White Sox's Charlie Tilson (hamstring) to undergo season-ending surgery

Chicago White Sox outfielder Charlie Tilson will undergo surgery to repair a torn left hamstring on Thursday.

What It Means:

Tilson was initially placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain earlier on Wednesday, but the injury turned out to be far more severe. The 23-year-old outfielder made his Major League debut against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday and suffered the tear while tracking a long fly ball. With the surgery now scheduled, Tilson will miss the remainder of the 2016 season.

Prior to being called up, Tilson was hitting .282/.345/.407 with a .337 wOBA in 395 appearances at the plate in Triple-A. He logged 53 runs scored, 34 RBI's and 15 stolen bags.
