The Atlanta Braves have promoted pitcher Rob Whalen from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Whalen was acquired from the Mets in 2015, and spent most of this season in Double-A, notching only three Triple-A starts before being called up.
Whalen has been solid in 2016, posting a 2.49 ERA and 22.22 percent strikeout rate in his 18 Double-A starts and a 1.93 ERA and 24.66 strikeout rate in Triple-A.
