Seattle Mariners reliever Edwin Diaz will take over the closer role, as Steve Cishek has lost his grip on the job, according to Mariners' manager Scott Servais.
Cishek has struggled through his last 10 appearances, recording two losses while giving up eight earned runs across 10 innings in that span.
Diaz has had a very promising season, posting a 1.80 ERA, 1.40 SIERA and 44.95 percent strikeout rate through 25 innings in 24 games.
