Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce could be the centerpiece of a three-team blockbuster involving Cincinnati, the Los Angeles Dodgers and a mystery club, according to Jayson Stark of ESPN.
“Mystery team†is always busy circulating the trade rumors at this time of year, but the Dodgers appear determined to acquire the Reds’ 29-year-old slugger. There is a good chance that Bruce will be donning new threads after the deadline.
Bruce is having a great year, slashing .271/.323/.572 with a career-high .371 wOBA in 393 plate appearances, contributing to a 2.12 nERD that ranks 33rd in the majors. We project him to hit .254/.317/.468 while blasting 10 more dingers over the remainder of the season.
