Boston Red Sox infielder Travis Shaw is not in the starting lineup for Friday night's tilt against Tim Lincecum and the Los Angeles Angels.
Nothing more than a scheduled day of maintenance for Shaw. Aaron Hill, who owns a .500 career batting average (11-for-22) versus Lincecum, will hit seventh and man third for Boston.
Shaw is hitting .266/.327/.462 with a .334 wOBA in 376 plate appearances this season, displaying a slight regression from last year's numbers. He's added 12 home runs and 55 RBI's, while his 0.65 nERD ranks 114th in the majors.
