Nationals willing to trade Lucas Giolito to Yankees for Andrew Miller

The Washington Nationals are willing to trade starting pitcher Lucas Giolito to the New York Yankees for relief pitcher Andrew Miller, FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports.

What It Means:

The Yankees have been reticent to dealt Miller, but this could certainly change their tune. Giolito's three starts for the Nats have been up and down, but he's still viewed as one of the best pitching prospects in the game. The Yankees would have control of him for many years, and Miller is still under control through 2018.

Miller ranks fifth in the majors with a 0.77 WHIP, and he's sporting an outstanding 1.17 SIERA and 44.77 percent strikeout rate with only a 4.07 percent walk rate across 45 1/3 innings of work. We project him for a 2.40 ERA (the 11th-best in our projections) and a league-leading 13 saves over the remainder of the season.
