Carter Capps included in haul for Padres
Miami Marlins pitcher Carter Capps is also headed to the San Diego Padres in the Andrew Cashner deal, reports FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
Apparently, both sides agreed to swap their entire rosters, as the trade continues to grow with more names, with Rosenthal reporting Tayron Guerrero is also headed to the Marlins. Capps is a high-risk, high-reward type of player, as his long-term health is always a concern due to big velocity and an unorthodox delivery, but he can prove to be a shutdown reliever when active. Guerrero has displayed some impressive power from the mound as well.
Capps is currently recovering from Tommy John surgery but has been dominant when healthy, posting a 1.16 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 49.15 strikeout percentage over 31 innings last season.
