Jonathan Lucroy out of Brewers' lineup, possible trade looming
Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy is not in the starting lineup Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Trade talks involving Lucroy began to intensify on Wednesday, based on reports from ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, so there's a chance his absence from the lineup means a deal is on the horizon. The Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros, New York Mets and Boston Red Sox are all believed to be interested. Martin Maldonado will start behind the plate for the Brewers on Thursday against Arizona.
The 30-year-old Lucroy is having a strong year, hitting .300/.361/.486 with a .360 wOBA in 371 plate appearances. His 1.66 nERD ranks 51st in the bigs.
