Boston Red Sox shortstop David Hamilton is not starting in Friday's lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Hamilton will sit on the bench in Pittsburgh after Ceddanne Rafaela was shifted to shortstop, Jarren Duran was aligned in center field, Wilyer Abreu was shifted to left, and Robert Refsnyder was positioned in right.
Per Baseball Savant on 20 batted balls this season, Hamilton has produced a .217 expected average and a 5.0% barrel rate.
