Carlos Gomez

Houston's Carlos Gomez (hamstring) leaves early Wednesday

Houston Astros center fielder Carlos Gomez was lifted from Wednesday's contest early with a strained right hamstring as the Astros beat the New York Yankees 4-1.

What It Means:

Gomez wasn't visibly hampered by the injury, but he was lifted in the top of the third inning and replaced in center field by Jake Marisnick. He will see a doctor on Thursday, and with time on the disabled list a very real possibility, this one is worth keeping an eye on.

Gomez is having a rough season from the dish, slashing .216/.280/.330 with an ugly .267 wOBA that is his lowest since his rookie year in 2007. His -1.37 nERD ranks only 359th in the majors.
