Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb (hand) could return on Friday, according to the hopes of manager Chip Hale.
Lamb has gone hitless over his past five contests, including an 0-for-4, two strikeout performance on Monday night versus the Milwaukee Brewers. He continues to be hampered by a bruised left hand, while the hope is some rest and rehab will help get the 25-year-old back into form.
Lamb is having a tremendous year from the dish, hitting .284/.362/.597 with a .397 wOBA and .313 ISO in 362 appearances at the plate. His 2.94 nERD ranks 11th in the majors.
