Michael Brantley (shoulder) expects to return in 2016 for Cleveland

Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley (shoulder) said he is "very confident" he can still impact the Indians this season.

What It Means:

Over the past few days, Brantley has been hitting in the cage and is apparently feeling good. He had surgery on his right biceps tendon earlier this month in order to remove scar tissue, which was near his right shoulder that also required major surgery occurring last November. Injuries have limited Brantley to just 11 major league games this season, after posting a .389 wOBA in 2014 and a .368 in 2015.

Brantley did not hit well in his 11 games this season, slashing .231/.279/.282 with just a .051 ISO. Despite not having Brantley's services for much of this season, Cleveland's outfielders own a combined .334 wOBA, which ranks 10th best in the bigs.
