Cameron Rupp

Cameron Rupp (head) starting Monday for Philadelphia

Philadelphia Phillies catcher Cameron Rupp (head) has returned to the starting lineup Monday against the Miami Marlins.

What It Means:

On Saturday, Rupp was hit in the head by a pitch, but he has passed Major League Baseball's concussion protocol and has been cleared to return. He'll start behind the plate and hit fifth against Marlins righty Jarred Cosart. Rupp is hitting .260 this season against right-handers versus .350 against southpaws.

Rupp's overall slash in 248 plate appearances this season is .276/.323/.487 with 10 home runs and a .345 wOBA that ranks fourth-best among catchers with at least 240 plate appearances. Our models project him to hit .243/.296/.414 with five taters and a .302 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
