Blue Jays designate Drew Storen for assignment
The Toronto Blue Jays designated pitcher Drew Storen for assignment on Sunday.
Storen has been a major disappointment in his first season in Toronto, and given his salary, he will almost certainly clear waivers. The Blue Jays could trade him but they would probably have to eat a portion of the money remaining on his contract, but Storen is a free agent in 2017.
Storen has logged 33 1/3 innings in 38 appearances this season while posting a 6.21 ERA and a 20.51 strikeout rate. Lefties are posting a .479 wOBA against Storen this season across 69 total batters faced.
