Manager Kevin Cash mentioned Thursday that Morrison is dealing with a wrist issue that's getting worse, so he saw a doctor. Tim Beckham is starting in his place at first base against Sonny Gray and the Oakland Athletics on Thursday.
Morrison is hitting .232/.309/.377 with a .303 wOBA in 324 appearances at the plate this season. He has totaled 10 home runs, 31 RBI's and four stolen bases on the year.
