Michael Pineda shuts out Orioles through six innings in Yankees' win
New York Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda struck out eight over six shutout innings in a 5-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.
This snaps a bit of a cold streak for Pineda, who was win-less in his six starts before Wednesday, and had given up back-to-back five-run games.
Despite his struggles, Pineda ranks 26th in the majors with a 2.50 nERD, and he's sporting a 3.31 SIERA and 27.5 percent strikeout rate that indicate that he is pitching a lot better than his 5.25 ERA might make it seem.
