Giants scouting Brewers' Will Smith
The San Francisco Giants have scouted Milwaukee Brewers relief pitchers Will Smith and Jeremy Jeffress in their ongoing search for bullpen help according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
The Giants have been in search of bullpen help and they have been tied to several players, including Phillies' relievers Jeanmar Gomez and David Hernandez, as well as Yankees' relievers Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller. For now nothing is set in stone, but with the trade deadline less than two weeks away, it would be surprising to see the Giants not bring in some bullpen help.
Through 17 innings pitched this season, Smith has a 2.12 ERA, 22.73 strikeout rate and 0.94 WHIP for the Brewers.
