Pittsburgh activates Francisco Cervelli from disabled list

The Pittsburgh Pirates activated catcher Francisco Cervelli from the 15-day disabled list.

What It Means:

Cervelli, who is recovering from a broken left hand, went 4-for-10 with a double across three games, while walking three times, during a minor league rehab assignment. He'll hit sixth in his return to action on Tuesday -- his first game since June 10 -- against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Cervelli is slashing .257/.373/.293 in 201 plate appearances this season. He has not hit a home run this season, contributing to a poor .036 ISO, as well as a .309 wOBA. Our models project him to hit .261/.351/.358 with two home runs and a .313 wOBA over the rest of the year.
