Ben Zobrist in for Cubs, Javier Baez to sit on Tuesday

Chicago Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist is back in Tuesday's lineup against the New York Mets, but infielder Javier Baez is on the bench.

What It Means:

Zobrist was out of the lineup for a couple of days in order to get some rest, but he'll bat cleanup against Mets starter Noah Syndergaard Tuesday. Tommy La Stella will make the start at third base and hit leadoff in Baez's stead.

Zobrist has been both versatile and dominant in 2016, slashing .277/.386/.458 with a .366 wOBA. He adds to that with a stellar line of 13 home runs, 59 runs and 47 RBI's in 371 plate appearances on the year. We project his pace to dip slightly in the remaining months, posting a .346 wOBA, with 7 more home runs, 34 runs and 29 RBI's in another 266 appearances at the plate.
