Angels' Nick Tropeano (elbow) leaves start early

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Nick Tropeano was lifted after two innings against the Texas Rangers on Monday due to soreness in his right elbow.

What It Means:

He gave up three home runs before leaving the game, and will undergo an MRI on the elbow on Tuesday. If he's forced to miss any extended time, look for Tyler Skaggs to replace Tropeano in the rotation.

Tropeano ranks 132nd in the majors with a 1.46 nERD. He's sporting a 4.51 SIERA and 22.97 percent strikeout rate through 68 1/3 innings, with both of those numbers representing a decline from his 2015 production.
