Hyun Soo Kim (hamstring) won't play Friday for Orioles
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim (hamstring) is out of the starting lineup Friday versus the Tampa Bay Rays.
Kim went through a workout on Thursday and his injured hamstring did not respond well to it, but the Orioles remain hopeful that a disabled list stint will not be necessary. Joey Rickard gets the start in left field and will bat ninth on Friday. His .306 wOBA this season is significantly lower than Kim's .379 wOBA.
Kim's power has been disappointing (.125 ISO), but he's having a solid season otherwise, slashing .329/.410/.454 in 173 plate appearances. Our models project him to slow down over the remaining course of the season, hitting .273/.342/.381 with two home runs and a .313 wOBA.
