Rangers activate Keone Kela from 60-day disabled list
Rangers activated RHP Keone Kela from the 60-day disabled list.
Kela will be available Friday night for a road matchup with the Chicago Cubs. He received surgery in April to remove a bone spur from his right elbow, but is now recovered and ready for action out of the Rangers' bullpen.
Kela has faced just 30 batters this season, twirling a rough 7.11 ERA across 6 1/3 innings of work. However, if he can regain his form from last season (2.39 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 60 1/3 innings), the 23-year-old right-hander could prove to be a valuable piece for the Rangers through the second half of the year.
