Aaron Hill

Red Sox acquire Aaron Hill from Milwaukee for two prospects

The Boston Red Sox acquired infielder Aaron Hill from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for right-handed pitchers Aaron Wilkerson and Wendell Rijo.

What It Means:

Hill provides the Red Sox with a strong right-handed bat, although they could still use some assistance on the mound. Dustin Pedroia has things under control at second base for Boston, so Hill will serve time at third. The acquisition probably means less appearances at the plate for Travis Shaw, who has fallen off after a stellar start to the year. In Milwaukee, Will Middlebrooks and Hernan Perez should split responsibilities at the hot corner.

Hill is working with a .283/.359/.421 slash and .342 wOBA in 292 plate appearances this season. He's logged eight jacks and 29 RBI's with four steals in 2016, while his 0.71 nERD ranks just outside of the top-100.
