Phillies' Tommy Joseph not starting Thursday night
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Tommy Joseph is not in the starting lineup Thursday against the Colorado Rockies.
This appears to be just a day off for Joseph. Ryan Howard gets the start at first base and will hit sixth on Thursday. Joseph started this season hot, hitting .323 with seven home runs across his first 69 plate appearances, but is hitting just .160 with two home runs over his last 84 appearances at the plate.
Joseph owns an overall slash line this season of .233/.248/.459 with a .294 wOBA and just a 2.6 walk percentage (league average is 8.2 percent). Our models project him to hit .226/.272/.380 with five home runs and a .282 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
