Los Angeles Angels third baseman Yunel Escobar went 3-for-5 from the leadoff spot against the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday to raise his average to .327.
Escobar's batting average is about all he offers for fantasy purposes, as he has just three home runs, no steals, 36 runs and 26 RBI's -- one of each which came on Thursday. Despite the fantasy irrelevance, the last-place Angels might be able to flip Escobar for a decent prospect.
Escobar's overall slash line this season is .327/.374/.426 with a .346 wOBA in 332 plate appearances. Our models project him to hit .291/.352/.389 with three home runs and a .323 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
