Alberto Rosario called up by Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals purchased the contract of catcher Alberto Rosario.
What It Means:
Rosario will join the big league club as the backup catcher, while Brayan Peña hits the disabled list with left knee inflammation. Veteran Yadier Molina will continue to receive the bulk of starting at-bats from the position.
The 29-year-old Rosario was slashing .281/.323/.325 with a .296 wOBA and 13 RBI's for Triple-A Memphis before his promotion.
