Brayan Peña headed back to Cardinals' disabled list
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Brayan Peña was placed on the 15-day disabled list with left knee inflammation.
Peña was just activated from the disabled list on June 28, so this is a bit disconcerting. He underwent surgery in April to remove loose cartilage from the same left knee and no timetable currently exists for the 34-year-old backstop.
Peña has only made nine appearances at the plate this season, and our models currently project him to record a .250 wOBA in just 45 appearances at the plate over the remainder of the year.
