Tigers place Daniel Norris (oblique) on 15-day disabled list

The Detroit Tigers placed pitcher Daniel Norris on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique.

What It Means:

In a corresponding move, the Tigers will call-up Buck Farmer from Triple-A Toledo. Norris strained his oblique during Monday's start against the Cleveland Indians, and he lasted just two innings and allowed two runs. Detroit is confident that Norris will be able to return just after the All-Star break. Between being demoted and a back injury earlier in the season, Norris has been limited to just four outings (three starts) in the big leagues this season, posting a 4.85 ERA.

It's a small sample size (just 13 innings), but Norris' xFIP of 3.71 suggest he's been unlucky on the mound this season. We currently project him to record a 5.51 ERA and a 17.2 strikeout percentage (league average is 21.0) over the remaining course of the season.
