Rangers, Rays have discussed Jake Odorizzi deal
The Texas Rangers have been in talks with the Tampa Bay Rays about acquiring starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi, per ESPN's Jim Bowden.
Jurickson Profar, Joey Gallo and Lewis Brinson are among the Rangers' players being discussed in the talks, which are still in the preliminary stages.
The 26-year-old Odorizzi owns a career 3.88 SIERA, 22.4 percent strikeout rate and 7.6 percent walk rate. He owns a 3.91 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 94 1/3 innings this season, while his 2.28 nERD ranks 60th in the majors.
