Oakland Athletics catcher/first baseman Stephen Vogt is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Vogt will get the night off with southpaw Jeff Locke toeing the rubber for Pittsburgh. Josh Phegley will play catch for Oakland and bat eighth.
Vogt is slashing .271/.314/.428 with six home runs and a .322 wOBA in 255 plate appearances this season. Our models currently project him to hit .261/.318/.415 with seven home runs and a .313 wOBA in 265 appearances at the plate over the remaining course of the season.
