Dodgers to acquire Bud Norris from Braves

The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired pitcher Bud Norris from the Atlanta Braves, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

What It Means:

With ace Clayton Kershaw (back) on the disabled list, the Dodgers needed a replacement, and they found it in Norris. He began the year in Atlanta's starting rotation, but he pitched poorly enough (8.74 ERA) in five starts to be moved to the bullpen. Norris re-joined the rotation on June 4 and has seen much different results, posting a 2.15 ERA in five starts.

For the season, Norris owns a 4.08 xFIP and 19.9 strikeout percentage (league average is 21.0 percent) in 70 1/3 innings pitched. Our models currently project him to record a 4.58 ERA and 16.8 strikeout percentage over the remaining course of the season.
