San Diego Padres pitcher Andrew Cashner (neck) is expected to rejoin the Padres' rotation on Sunday against the New York Yankees.
Cashner twirled three shutout innings Tuesday in a rehab appearance at High-A Lake Elsinore.
Through 53 innings pitched this season, Cashner owns a career-worst 4.97 SIERA. His 15.3 percent strikeout rate is another career-low clip. Our models project him to post a 4.68 ERA and 16.1 percent strikeout rate through 58 2/3 more innings this season.
