Twins giving Joe Mauer a breather in matchup with White Sox
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer is not in the lineup Thursday.
Byung-Ho Park is on the sidelines again, as well, but it is likely a standard day of rest for Mauer. The Twins will have Trevor Plouffe manning first, Eduardo Nunez on the hot corner, Eduardo Escobar at shortstop, Danny Santana in left and Robbie Grossman holding things down as the designated hitter.
Mauer is working with a .317 wOBA and .264/.362/.379 slash this season. He's accounted for seven moon balls and 26 RBI's in 323 appearances at the plate in 2016.
