Giants place Joe Panik on seven-day disabled list

The San Francisco Giants placed second baseman Joe Panik on the seven-day concussion disabled list.

What It Means:

Panik passed his concussion tests three days running after being hit in the head with a ball in mid-June, but his symptoms returned to the point where the Giants were forced to sit him on Tuesday. Until he is ready to return, expect Ramiro Pena to receive increased at-bats.

Panik has slashed .256/.321/.407 this year, with a .319 wOBA, 45 runs, 7 home runs, and 5 stolen bases. Our algorithm projects him to finish the year with 311 more plate appearances at a .318 wOBA clip when he returns.
