Dodgers transfer Alex Wood to 60-day disabled list

The Los Angeles Dodgers transferred pitcher Alex Wood from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

What It Means:

Wood was initially placed on the 15-day disabled list at the end of May due to left posterior elbow soreness. With this roster move, he will not be eligible to return until July 30. Wood has only just begun a throwing program and wasn't previously expected to return until around the All-Star Break at earliest anyway.

Wood had registered a decent 3.99 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 25.62 strikeout percentage over 56 1/3 innings (1-4 record in 10 starts) this season for Los Angeles. Our models project him to post a 4.14 ERA through 98 innings remaining this season.
