Tyler Anderson shows up well in Rockies loss Wednesday
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Tyler Anderson pitched respectably in Wednesday's loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits over six innings.
Anderson struck out six, walking two. A high pitch count -- 106 pitches (76 strikes) over six innings -- is what really prevented him from lasting deeper into the game. The 26-year-old Anderson has yet to allow more than two earned runs in a start through three outings. He is certainly a consideration in deeper fantasy formats, as he has a favorable road start against the San Francisco Giants lined up next.
Anderson now holds a 2.66 ERA and 24.00 percent strikeout rate through his first four starts. Prior to this game, we projected him to finish the season with a 5.02 ERA and 16.00 percent strikeout rate over 23 1/3 more innings pitched.
