Alex Gordon on Royals' bench for matchup with St. Louis
Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's showdown against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Gordon was out for over a month with a broken bone in his hand, so the Royals are taking things nice and easy with his return to the diamond. Whit Merrifield will lead off and man left field, while Christian Colon holds things down at second base for Kansas City.
Our models currently project Gordon to hit .238/.313/.381 with six taters, three steals and a .304 wOBA in 228 plate appearances over the remaining course of the season.
