San Francisco Giants utility-man Austin Slater is not starting in Tuesday's lineup against the San Diego Padres.
Slater will take a break at home after Tyler Fitzgerald was shifted to center field, J.D. Davis was positioned at third base, and LaMonte Wade Jr. was aligned at first.
Per Baseball Savant on 125 batted balls this season, Slater has recorded a 11.2% barrel rate and a .253 expected average.
