Steven Moya helps Tigers take care of Seattle

Detroit Tigers outfielder Steven Moya doubled in a run and walked twice Thursday to knock off the Seattle Mariners 5-4 in 10 innings.

What It Means:

They were the second and third walks of the season for Moya -- and they couldn't have come at a better time -- with the second freebie leading to the game-winning run in the 10th. Moya entered the contest with 15 strikeouts, compared to the one walk. He also whiffed six times for every one time he walked at the Triple-A level, so this was a surprising outing, to say the least. Moya has legitimate power, but it remains to be seen if he will be able to have lasting value in mixed leagues.

Moya is slashing .321/.356/.625 with a .410 wOBA in 59 appearances at the plate this season. He has three home runs and six RBI's, while owning a 28.80 strikeout percentage.
