Starling Marte (foot) out of Pirates' lineup again Thursday
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte (foot) is not in the starting lineup Thursday against the San Francisco Giants.
Marte exited Tuesday's contest with discomfort in his left foot and was held out of Wednesday's matchup, as well. Sean Rodriguez will be making the start in left. Marte did serve in a pinch-hitting role on Wednesday, so the injury doesn't appear to be too serious.
Marte has had an impressive season so far, slashing .329/.372/.496 with six home runs, 20 stolen bases and a .383 wOBA in 269 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to hit .288/.328/.445 with eight taters, 16 steals and a .336 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
