Albert Pujols out of Angels' lineup again Wednesday

Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Albert Pujols (hamstring, ankle) is out again Wednesday versus the Houston Astros.

What It Means:

Pujols hurt his hamstring on Sunday after spraining his ankle about three weeks ago. He played on Monday but will now be out of the lineup for the second straight day, and he hopes he can avoid the disabled list. Mike Trout is the starting designated hitter, and C.J. Cron is at first base on Wednesday.

Old age is affecting Pujols' bat, as well. He's slashing just .234/.312/.396 with a .306 wOBA in 298 plate appearances this season. He's showing he still has some power left, however, as he has 12 home runs. Our models currently project Pujols to hit .260/.327/.468 with 16 home runs and a .339 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
