Giants place Matt Duffy on disabled list
The San Francisco Giants placed third baseman Matt Duffy on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 20, with a left Achilles strain.
Duffy's MRI raised some concerns with the team, so he will be put on the DL for the time being while his Achilles recovers. Ramiro Pena and Conor Gillaspie could share third base duties during his absence.
Duffy is slashing .253/.313/.358 with four home runs, eight stolen bases and just a .295 wOBA in 286 plate appearances this season.
