JJ Bleday joining Athletics bench Monday
Oakland Athletics outfielder JJ Bleday is not in the lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Miles Mikolas and the St. Louis Cardinals.
What It Means:
The Athletics appear to be giving Bleday a breather after 11 straight starts in the outfield. He was the leadoff batter the past two games and went 2-for-7 with a homer and 3 runs scored. Esteury Ruiz will replace Bleday in the outfield and leadoff spot Monday.
