Mike Fiers works 5 2/3 scoreless innings as Astros down Reds
Houston Astros starting pitcher Mike Fiers worked 5 2/3 scoreless innings Sunday in the Astros' 6-0 blanking of the Cincinnati Reds.
Fiers struck out five and walked only one batter over his 5 2/3 scoreless frames. He gave up four hits on the day, and the Astros bullpen came in and helped finish off the shutout. Fiers will face off against Kansas City in his next start.
Fiers is 5-3 with a 4.42 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 79 1/3 innings this season. Our models project him to post a 4.33 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 102 remaining innings this season.
