Mallex Smith suffers broken thumb in Braves' win
Atlanta Braves outfielder Mallex Smith was diagnosed with a fractured thumb after leaving Sunday's game against the New York Mets when he was hit by a Jacob deGrom pitch in the seventh inning.
Smith will be headed to the disabled list, but there has been no word on a timetable for his return. He will be examined by team doctors on Monday, so another update shouldn't be too far away.
Smith owns a wOBA of .201 over 198 plate appearances in 2016. He has three homers, 21 RBI's and 14 swipes on the year.
