Padres' Tyson Ross could throw off mound soon
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Tyson Ross (shoulder) could throw off a mound by the end of the week.
Ross threw long toss on Thursday and even did some work on the front slope of the mound. If all goes well over the course of this week, he could be ready to throw off the mound next week. Ross is expected back sometime around the All Star Break.
n his one start this season, Ross whiffed five batters over 5 1/3 innings while allowing seven earned runs. His strikeout potential makes him an intriguing fantasy option. Ross fanned 212 hitters in 196 innings in 2015. Our models currently project him to record a 4.41 ERA and 19.4 strikeout percentage over the remaining course of the season.
