Chris Young

Boston's Chris Young (quad) out of lineup Thursday

Boston Red Sox outfielder Chris Young is out of the starting lineup versus the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday due to quad soreness.

What It Means:

Rusney Castillo will start in Young's place, which will only be Castillo's second start this season. He'll bat seventh and play left field against the Orioles. Young can be considered day-to-day with his injury.

Young has been outstanding this season, posting a .388 wOBA with a .276 ISO in a part-time role (116 plate appearances). He's been especially cruel to southpaws, putting up an insane .512 wOBA against left-handed pitching. Our models project Young to hit .254/.328/.456 with five home runs and a .333 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
