Mets' Neil Walker (back) may return Thursday
New York Mets second baseman Neil Walker (back) may be able to play in Thursday's series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Walker has been out with lower back tightness, but he reportedly received clearance from a specialist on Wednesday. Matt Reynolds has been starting in Walker's place.
Walker is slashing .271/.343/.478 with 13 home runs -- just three less than he hit all of last season -- and a .351 wOBA in 230 plate appearances this year. Our models currently project him to hit .260/.325/.428 with 13 home runs and a .323 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
