New York Mets manager Terry Collins said the Mets have discussed the possibility of third baseman David Wright (neck) missing the rest of the year.
Wright saw a specialist on Tuesday, and surgery is reportedly an option. For now, Wilmer Flores should see an uptick in playing time, but the Mets could make a trade to add a third baseman is Wright is out for the season.
Wright ranks 113th with a 0.68 nERD. He owns a .345 wOBA, which would be the third-lowest mark of his career. He's only played a total of 75 games since the start of the 2015 season.
