Erick Aybar scratched from Tuesday's lineup for Braves
Atlanta Braves shortstop Erick Aybar was scratched from Tuesday's lineup versus the Cincinnati Reds.
The exact reason for his absence is not yet known, but he was hit in the ribs by a pitch on Monday, so it's possible he's dealing with lingering soreness. Chase d'Arnaud will take over at shortstop, with Jace Peterson starting at second base.
Aybar has arguably been baseball's worst hitter this season, slashing just .187/.232/.226 without a home run, and a .201 wOBA that ranks dead last among hitters with at least 170 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to hit .245/.285/.314 with two home runs and a .261 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
